AFC Challenge Cup: Azkals Beat Maldives 3-2

The Azkals beat the home team Maldives in a tense game 3-2 lead. The Azkals outclassed the Team Maldives despite of home team advantage. Another history for the Philippines. The Azkals made it to the AFC Challenge Cup finals.

In first half a hard fought game for the Azkals. Phil Younghusband scored a 1 point lead in 19th minute mark of the game but Maldives Muhammed Umair scores back in 36th minute of the game. But also The Azkals are not giving up in a first half when Jerry Lucena kicks find the goal in 39th minute of the game and the Azkals gain the lead 2-1 before the first half ends.

In second half another nail biting game. The Maldives looking the opportunity to tie the game and in 63' minute mark of the game Assadhulla Abdulla finds a kick to the corner and put the score in a tie game. The home team fans boost their support to Maldives after that equalizer shots. But the Azkals never say die and put a historic winning shot from Greatwich who made a hilarious night for the Philippines in a added extra minute. The game ends in a 3-2 lead by the Azkals.

Another history for the Philippines, but the game still not done, they will face the Palestine for the AFC Challenge Cup 2014 Finals in Friday May 30, 2014. Whoever wins in the finals will be qualified for a much challenging event which is the Asian Cup 2015.
