Pinoy Pride 28: Nietes vs Velarde

The Pinoy Pride 28 is already scheduled on  November 15, 2014 at the Cebu City Waterfront Hotel & Casino, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines.

Donnie Nietes will face the Mexican Fighter Carlos Velarde. Nietes will try to beat the record of Flash Elorde who reigned as a Junior light weight champion for 7 years, and three months. If Nietes win his upcoming fight he would have a record of 7 years, 1 month and 7 days nearly to defeat the Elorde's record, just need to wait for 2 months.

Carlos Velarde is a 24 year old boxer from Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico. He has a record of 24 wins (14 of his victory are by KO) and 3 loses. Velarde won his 3 last fights and he is the current IBF Latino minimum weight champion. He failed to have his 1st world title when he lost by Ryo Miyazaki last May 2013.

The last pinoy pride 27 in Dubai was a success for all Filipino boxer. Bautista defeats Juan Jose Martinez by RTD, Abarra won via Unanimous Decision vs Chatpayak Sithkopon Nuengkawkawhok, Arthur Villanueva won via split descision against Henry Maldonado and Genesis Servania won via RTD against the Mexican fighter Jose Cabrera.
