Game Highlights: Argentina Defeats Gilas 81-85

The Gilas Pilipinas starts strong in the FIBA World Cup against the Argentina team but fell shorts in the 4th quarter and lose the game 81-85.

The team Pilipinas who ranked no. 34 in FIBA shows a heart in the game. Starting a with a 25-22 lead vs the Argentina team.

Starting on the second half the Gilas team goes up with their nice shooting and lead the game 32-22. In 2:39 left in the game the Philippines still up with 34-28 but the Argentinians had their 3 points shot from Pablo Prigioni then came up with the backups and their finally get up and lead the game before the second quarter ends 40-36.

In 3rd Quarter Gabe Norwood had an emphatic jam to tie game 48-48. The Argentina still handled the game with their lead 65-53 in 1:30 left in the quarter. The 3rd quarter ends in a 10 points lead by the Argentinian 61-71.

In the opening of the 4th quarter Ranidel De Ocampo scores a 3 point, and another 3 points again came from De Ocampo that cuts the leads to 71-69 in 7:59 left in the game.

Blatche sores with the left hook to decreased the lead of the Argentinians 82-78 with 3 minutes left in the game. Alapag added another 3 points shot that puts the game in a 1 point lead by the Argentina. Then Nocioni draw a foul and put his 2 free throws and the game ends 81-85 wins from the Argentina.

Ranidel leads the team with 18 points, Alapag contributed with 15, Blatche added 14 and  Williams with 11 points.

In Argentina Scola leads the game with 19 points, Mata added with 17 and Herman with 10 points.

The Philippines vs Argentina called one of the best FIBA Game so far. The next game of the Philippines is vs the Puerto Rico team on September 3, 2014.
