Australian Boxer Brayd Smith Dies after losing a fight to a Filipino


We are deeply saddened to hear that the Australian Boxer Braydon Smith dies today March 16, 2015. Brayden die after he fought Filipino John Vincent Moralde on March 14, 2015.

Brayden Smith, who has a record of 12 wins, including 0 loses was defeated by the Filipino boxer John Vincent Moralde at Rumors International, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia last March 14, 2015.

Moralde really dominates the fight and win unanimously, with the judges scores of 99-91, 98-92 and 97-93.

In the fight Brayden was wobbled in the 9th round but there's no real sign of serious damage seen by referee to stop the fight. The fight was ended in a 10th round Unanimous Decision victory by the Filipino prospect.

Brayd Smith still had the chance to congratulate Moralde before he collapsed in his dressing room approximately 90 minutes after the fight.

He was placed in an induced coma at Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital where they decided to take off his life support. Brayd passed away two days after the bout.

The 20 Year old boxer from Davao City, Davao del Sur, Philippines Moralde, speaking with Rappler in Manila, says "I’m very saddened to hear of Braydon’s condition but I am praying for his full recovery. My prayers are with his family."

Brayd Smith is a 23 years old boxer and was in his last year studying law at the University of Southern Queensland.
