Vic Saludar faces Kosei Tanaka for WBO Minimumweight Title


Vic Saludar of the Philippines will face Kosei Tanaka for the WBO minimum weight title on December 31, 2015 in Nagoya.


The Filipino challenger Vic Saludar is coming off 1 round TKO victory against Rizky Pratama of Indonesia for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific minimumweight title.

The 21 year old fighter from Polomolok, Cotabato del Sur, Philippines has a record consisting of 11 wins and 9 of those wins are coming by way of KO with 1 losses. Saludar lost to Powell Balaba in 2013, but after that, he won his last 9 fights.

The Japanese world champion Kosei Tanaka from Tajimi, Gifu, Japan is also a young boxer with the record of 5 wins, including 2 wins by way of KO with no defeats.

The 20 year old fighter has only 5 fights but already won the WBO World minimumweight title against the Mexican fighter Julian Yedras last May 2015 via Unanimous Decision. Tanaka is also a former OPBF minimumweight champion beating Ryuji Hara last 2014.
