Merlito Sabillo vs Riku Kano on May 8th

Filipino former WBO world minimum weight champion Merlito Sabillo faces the Japanese fighter Riku Kano on May 8th, 2016 for the interim OPBF minimumweight title at Bunka Center, Sanda, Hyogo, Japan.

Sabillo is a 32 years old boxer with the record of 25W(12KO)-2L. He becomes a world champion in 2013 after defeating Luis de la Rosa in Colombia.

After that, Sabillo successfully defended his title 3 times until he fought Juan Francisco Estrada in Mexico and he was defeated via KO in 2014.

He was also defeated by a low ranked fighter from Indonesia Ellias Nggenggo in November of 2014.

Sabillo now is at his 2nd consecutive victory and he is looking to comeback for a world championship.

On the other hand, Japanese fighter Riku Kano is an 18 years old fighter with the reccord of 9W(5KO)-1L.

Unlike Sabillo the Japanese fighter is not yet tested in a top fight but he has a promising attitude and also he is a hard hitting boxer.

The Japanese fighter won all of his last 8 fights.
