Nietes to defend title against Rayito Garcia

Filipino WBO World light flyweight champion Donnie "Ahas" Nietes faces the former IBF and WBO World minimumweight champion Raul Garcia of Mexico on May 28th at the University of St. La Salle Coliseum in Bacolod City.

Nietes the 14 times world champion is now will be challenged by the top opponent from Mexico Raul Garcia.

Nietes who is currently at his best is handling an impressive record consisting of 37W(21KO)-1L-4D, he is a 2 division world champion and currently ranked no. 1 in the world and in the Philippines.

The 33 years old boxer had his first world title in 2007 and since that he was never defeated and continue to win against the top opponents.

Nietes won his last fight against Juan Alejo of Mexico in his last fight via UD.

On the other hand, Raul Garcia is a 33 years old boxer from La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico.

He won his first world title in 2008 against the Filipino boxer Florante Condes in 2008 after that he successfully defended it 4 times after being dominated by Nkosinathi Joyi of South Africa.

Rayito came back and won the WBO World minimumweight title in 2014.

The Mexican veteran only lost to the former world champion Nkosinathi Joyi of South Africa, Moises Fuentes of Mexico and Pedro Guevara of Mexico.

Rayito vs Nietes will be the 36th edition of Pinoy Pride series and to be titled "A Legend in the Making".
