Johnriel Casimero to defend title against Undefeated Brit

Filipino IBF World flyweight champion Johnriel Casimero will fly to London on September to defend his title against the no.1 flyweight boxer in UK Charlie Edwards. The fight will be included in the Golovkin-Brook undercard on September 10th and will be held at O2 Arena (Millenium Dome) Greenwich, London, United Kingdom.

The Filipino boxer is a two-division world champion and has a record consisting of 22 wins including 14 victories by way of KO and has only 3 defeats.

Casimero won his first major title against Pedro Guevarra in Mexico in 2012. He defeated Pedro Guevarra via Split Decision and successfully defended his light flyweight title 3 times before moving up in the flyweight division.

The fighter from Ormoc City, Leyte, Philippines fought Amnat Ruenroeng in 2015 for the IBF flyweight title but loses via unanimous decision in Thailand, after one year Casimero got his rematch and finally won the IBF title via KO the 4th round.

Meanwhile, his opponent from the UK is an undefeated boxer with the record of 7 wins including 3 KO. Charlie Edwards is the current WBC International Silver flyweight champion after beating Luke Wilton last February.

Edwards may not have the experience like Casimero but he promises to his fans that he can beat the Filipino Champion.
