Jerry Tomogdan faces Pedro Guevarra in a non-title fight

Filipino 22 years old boxer Jerry Tomogdan will face the former WBC World light flyweight champion Pedro Guevarra of Mexico in a non-title fight action on October 15, 2016 in Mexico.


Jerry Tomogdan is from Valencia City, Bukidnon, Philippines, he has a record consisting of 21 wins including 9 victories by way of KO and has 7 defeats.

The 5 foot 5 Filipino boxer once fought for the WBC World minimumweight title but knocked out by Wanheng Menayothin in 2015.

Tomogdan is the current Philippines Games & Amusement Board (GAB) minimumweight title, he defeated Crison Omayao via majority decision last March of 2016.

On the other hand, Pedro Guevara is a boxing star in Mexico, he has a record consisting of 28W(17KO)-2W-2L.

Pedro Guevara is the former WBC World light flyweight champion, he won his title against Akira Yaegashi in 2014 by KO and defended it 2 times against the Filipino boxer Richard Claveras by KO and the Mexican Ganigan Lopez via Unanimous Decision.

Guevarra lost his title last year when he fought the Japanese boxer Yu Kimura in Japan via Split Decision.

Gueverra supposedly to face Ganigan Lopez for the rematch but the champion suffered an injury. Despite of that, Guevarra still wants to continue to his fight and Tomogdan agreed to replace Lopez.

Guevarra vs Tomogdan is slated on October 15, 2016 at Centro de Usos Multiples, Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico.
