Aston Palicte faces undefeated Oscar Cantu in December

Filipino contender, Aston Palicte is set to face the undefeated American Oscar Cantu for the vacant WBA-NABA super flyweight and vacant WBO Inter-Continental super flyweight title on December 17, 2016, at Downtown Las Vegas Event Center, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Roy Jones Jr. Boxing promotion's Palicte  has a record consisting of 21W(18KO)2L. Palicte born in Bago City, Negros Occidental, Philippines and now currently residing in the USA.

Palicte is a hard-hitting Filipino boxer, he is a former WBO Oriental super flyweight and IBF Pan Pacific super flyweight champion, only loss to Romnick Magos of the Philippines in 2012 and Junior Granados of Mexico via controversial split decision last year.

Palicte is currently ranked no. 20 in the super flyweight division and ranked no. 3 in the Philippines.

On the other hand, Oscar Cantu is a 25 years old boxer from Kingsville, Texas, USA. He has an undefeated record consisting of 14 wins with 1 victories by way of KO.

He is not a powerful puncher but he is a very smart fighter, very accurate on his punches. Currently, the NABF super flyweight champion defeating Samuel Gutierrez via split decision in his last fight.

He also defeated the Fil-American Bruno Escalante last year to get the vacant NABF super flyweight title via unanimous decision.
