Brandon Vera knocks out Japanese to retain ONE Heavyweight Title


Brandon "the Truth" Vera overcomes his Japanese challenger Hedeki Sekine in their ONE Championship title bout Today December 2, 2016, at the Mall of Asia Arena, Philippines.


Vera knocks out Sekine in the very 1st round of the fight, he was absolutely a beast and he just stunned the Japanese in the 1st round. Vera connects a kick to the body that drops the Japanese then Vera pound Sekine on the ground that puts the referee to halt the fight at 3:11 seconds left.

It is the 3rd time that Vera won the fight in Manila and the 2nd time that he successfully defended his title also in Manila.

Vera improved his record to 15W-7L while the Japanese tasted his first defeat and dropped his record to 7W-1L.

Meanwhile in the undercard:

Bibiano Fernandez secured his title via SD win against a top gun from Australia Reece Mclaren. It was one hell of the fight, the underdog McLaren broke the nose of the Champion, but the Brazilian BJJ specialist wins the fight via takedown. Fernandes decisively win the 1,2 and 3 rounds while the Australian got the 4 and 5 rounds.

Mark Striegl of the Philippines dominates Sotir Kichukov via 3 round unanimous decision. Striegl really showed improvements in his stamina.

Toni Tauro submits Team Lakays Geje 'Gravity' Eustaquio in the very 1st round of the fight.

Honorio Banario skills were too much for the Indian Rajinder 'Knockout' Singh Meena, Banario submits (armbar) the Indian fighter in the 1st round.

Edward 'The Ferocious' Kelly knocks out Su Noto in the 3rd round of the fight.

Taiwanese Jenny Huang Submits Team Lakays April Osenio in the 2nd round.
