Brian Viloria to fight Ruben Montoya on March 3rd in Japan

Former flyweight and light flyweight champion Brian Viloria is scheduled for his upcoming bout against the Mexican boxer Ruben Montoya on March 3, 2017, in Japan.

Viloria who is now handled by Teiken Promotions of Japan is looking for one more chance for to become a title contender again.

36 years old Brian Viloria was last fought a year ago against the top pound for pound boxer Roman Gonzalez of Nicaragua. Viloria was outboxed on that fight and had to surrender in the 10th round to prevent more damages.

Viloria currently has a record of 36 wins including 22 by KO and has 5 defeats.

Meanwhile, the Mexican Ruben Montoya is a 31 years old hard hitting boxer with the record of 14 wins including 9 victories by way of KO and has only 4 defeats and 1 draw.

A former Mexican super flyweight champion.

In his last fight, Montoya fought the world title contender and former champion Pedro Guevarra but defeated via technical decision due to an accidental cut of Guevarra in his left eye.

Viloria vs Montoya was added in the undercard of Shinsuke Yamanaka vs Carlos Carlson WBC World bantamweight title fight.
