Conlan: I do believe Ancajas is better than Kal Yafai

Jamie Conlan is set to face the IBF World Super Flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas of the Philippines on November 18th at The SSE Arena, Belfast, UK.

This would be Conlan's first fight for the world title. Conlan said that he didn't underestimate the Filipino champion but he is positive that he can win the fight.

Conlan said:

“I do believe he’s better than Kal Yafai,” argued ‘The Mexican’. “I believe he is the second best in the division with [WBO Champion Naoya] Inoue being the best. I don’t think he’s the weakest Champion.”

“[Ancajas] is a great fighter. To be a World Champion in the Super-Flyweight division says something about you. It’s the toughest I’ve seen in the world at the moment.”

“I’ve dealt with the hand in previous fights where I’ve been down and had to get up, been cut and can’t see for 2-3 rounds and been able to handle that environment where everything was crazy. It’s waters I’ve swam in, I’m very familiar with it,” Conlan added.

Conlan never fought someone like Ancajas before and we will see if Conlan can make an upset on November 18th.
