Tapales faces Rivo Rengkung of Indonesia on March 17th

Filipino former WBO World Bantamweight champion Marlon Tapales is scheduled to face the Indonesian veteran Rivo Rengkung in March.

Tapales will fight for the first time in the super bantamweight division. Tapales unable to get the vacant WBO World Bantamweight in his last fight because he was weighted over the limit but he knocked his opponent Shohei Omori in the 11th round.

Tapales got an offer to fight Cesar Juarez last year but he rejected it because he said that he is not yet ready for the fight, and now his fight against Rivo Rengkung will be a tune-up for him as he wants to adapt on his new division.

Meanwhile, Rivo Rengkung is a 33 years old boxer from Indonesia, he has a record of 36W(14KO)-24L-6D, definetely an underdog against Tapales. Rivo Rengkung won lost his last fight against Pipat Chaiporn of Thailand last August 2017.

Tapales vs  Rengkung will be held at the Bendigo Exhibition Centre, Bendigo, Victoria, Australia on March 17, 2018.
