Pinoy Pride 45: Nietes vs. Palicte Fight News

No.1 WBO Superflyweight contender Donnie "Ahas" Nietes vs. no. 2 contender Aston "Mighty" Palicte is all set for Pinoy Pride 45 of ALA Promotions that will be held in Cebu City on August 11, 2018.

Ahas will fight for the 1st time in the superflyweight division while Palicte defeated Jose Alfredo Rodriguez in his last fight via 5th round TKO to win the NABF Super Flyweight Title.

From ABS-CBN:
The camps of Nietes, stalwart of ALA Boxing, and Palicte, under Roy Jones Jr. Boxing, have agreed for the bout ordered by the WBO for its No. 1 and No. 2-ranked fighters after Japanese champion Naoya Inoue moved up to the bantamweight division.
Palicte has the big advantage on height at 5'7 but the 5'3 Nietes said that “This is boxing, not basketball,”.

This is the 2nd Filipino vs. Filipino world title fight this year since Ancajas and Sultan will fight for the world Super Flyweight Title on May 26th.
